I love you, Dennis Kucinich.
Dennis Kucinich is right now, and has been for a couple three hours now, been heroically (and yes, I mean that sincerely) reading 35 very, very lengthy and detailed articles of impeachment for President George W. Bush. It is a beautiful thing to watch.
Right now, it’s “He has put in place secret laws…” I’m not sure of the count, it’s somewhere in the teens, but he is burying the President in high crimes and misdemeanours!
Wait, wait… it’s Article 24, and he’s tearing into the FISA violations, and throwing in the “Search and Seizure” Constitutional violation, and oh, yes, he hasn’t forgotten to call the President on provably lying again… Yeah, this is going to take a while.
I’m going to want a DVD later, C-SPAN, but I’m settling in to watch you for the night, anyway. This is gold – it’ll be history, either major or at least one of the more satisfactory footnotes.
He’s being exquisitely careful, strictly from notes careful, because he doesn’t want to let a verbal miscue be cause for letting them get away with not washing the coffee-pot after they’d had the last cup… because he nows damn well there was blood in that coffee-pot.
I watched Kucinich on C-SPAN last night with a similar reaction – it was cathartic to see the “List of Shame” read (and added to the official record) in Congress. I’ve been frustrated and angered by the democratic ‘leadership’ and Pelosi’s “Off the Table” attitude. By all that is Holy… *thank*you*, Mr. Kucinich!
