Friday Frog

Today’s frog, Ithsmohyla rivularis, or was thought to be 20 years extinct until last year, when the University of Manchester’s Andrew Gray spotted it in Costa Rica’s Monteverde cloud forests.

Accoding to a BBC report Mr. Gray has obtained permission from Costa Rican authorities to make a return expedition to try and capture a breeding sample of these and other rare frogs in the hope of establishing a captive population to hopefully prevent a more final extinction.
