Friday Frog

We humans may be living in a rough world economy right now, but the world’s an even harsher place for many of our fellow Terrans. The Venezuelan skunk frog, Aromobates nocturnus, for example, has been classified as “possibly extinct” by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s Red List, along with about 300 other species.

Some humans are trying to help, too, of course; I was very interested to read of a sperm bank for endangered frog species being set up in a last-ditch attempt to keep some of the rare frog species extant.
