Profanity to be illegal in SC?

Can you believe this shit?

(A)    It is unlawful for a person in a public forum or place of public accommodation wilfully and knowingly to publish orally or in writing, exhibit, or otherwise make available material containing words, language, or actions of a profane, vulgar, lewd, lascivious, or indecent nature.

(B)    A person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a felony and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than five thousand dollars or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.”

Five fucking thousand dollars? Five pissing years in prison? Damn, that’s a cunt of a law, a real tits-wringer.

Funny thing is that sponsor Senator Ford is usually fairly OK for a South Carolina politician – he’s a supporter of gay rights, for example, though not himself apparently a cocksucker.

Once Governor Sanford signs this turd (as the motherfucker almost certainly will) it’ll be law though. Senator Ford, why’d you have to be such a twat?

(Let’s see, have I covered them all, George? Mmm… nope, one more.)

One Response to “Profanity to be illegal in SC?”

  1. Sounds like a goddam motherfucking prima facie first amendment violation. (I wonder if ‘prima facie first amendment violation’ is considered indecent language in South Carolina.)
