Potential Energy & Commerce Chair quells Global Warming worries
Not one but TWO reasons not to worry about global warming, from Rep. Shimkus (R-Ill.), who is a contender for the chairmanship of the Energy and Commerce Committee when they take over the House in January.
Got that? We don’t have to worry because the Bible is literally true and God promised not to destroy the world again, AND we don’t have to worry because there was more carbon dixide in the air in the time of the dinosaurs… that time presumably being a few thousand years ago.
(It’s true that there was more CO2 back in the Carboniferous, by the way. That’s when most of the fossil fuel carbon was naturally sequestered… and yes, the world was warmer then, Rep. Shimkus. No one’s saying it’s going to get so hot life won’t exist, you idiot, only that the rapid changes from dumping it all back into the air over a couple of centuries will be very disruptive to our civilization. If you have trouble picturing why that should be might I recommend you take a quick look at the flooding in Pakistan?)
